Base depth for side paver walkway?

Curious what you used for base and how deep for the walkway? I love the banas stone but at 1" think and 3" of HPB layed, do you think that's sufficient? Will be spaced about 4" apart like these. Thanks!

    Hello,


    For the walkway we used 1' of compacted GA (gravel) and a 3/4" bedding layer. The side path has spacing of 8" between stepping stones, set into 3" of river rock. Since they are independent of each other minor shifting from the frost cycle is normal and does not affect its usability.

    It sure is! Ottawa is mostly clay so we tend to overbuild to make sure our work does not move.
