Color Experts, help me pick a green

My kitchen cabinets will be either SW Forestwood or SW Ripe Olive. I love both colors and both will work with the polished concrete floor, whitish/grey counter, white walls, and wood accents. The kitchen has very few uppers, just the range hood(as shown). There is an L, that has an over fridge cabinet and a glass door hutch.

My original plan was Forestwood, but I wonder if the darker Ripe Olive is better. But, maybe it is so dark it loses all essence of green and just looks black.

This is not a huge house, the kitchen is open to the LR and the Dining area. The kitchen has one north facing window but across the great room is an entire bank of southern facing windows, which fill the space with light. There are plenty of recessed lights in the kitchen too,

I would not go darker than Forestwood.

I think in certain light/times of the day Forestwood will look like Dark Olive. So you'll get both:)

While I'm not sure Ripe Olive will look like Forestwood..so yes, you might loose that green. Or might not.

the best way to know is to have samples of course and to look at them for several days

promises to be a very cool kitchen

The best way to know which you like is to buy a quart of each, paint a smooth piece of plywood, at least 12" (or bigger is better) and live with them in that specific room. Walk out of the room throughout your day and evenings, then walk back in, paying attention to the colors. Be sure to use the lighting you intend to have and also turn off the lights to see it in natural light (sunny and cloudy days). Separate the colors in the room. Move them around. It can be amazing how colors change in your space.

If you can't cut your own, Home Depot will make the first cut for free, then each additional cut will either be free (if you smile nicely) or a minimal charge (if you're a dude, ha!). Get an extra piece cut just in case...

I did this with 3 colors, didn't love any of them as I thought, 4th was a charm. Good luck!

Thanks, Charlie Muse, this is for a house I dont live in. I have used that process in my current home.

Thanks cawaps and april you are confirming my rule to not second guess myself. :)

The LRV of 8 means that either is going to look black most of the time in the average not so well lit home. That’s dark. If you want it to look green, you need to address lighting, or go lighter. Cilantro or Kale Green are a bit lighter at 13 & 14 LRV, and will actually look like dark greens and not blacks in average lighting.

Local eater , I’m also going for a black with green tone cabinet look and am considering ripe olive. What did you end up going with?

@localeater I'm considering SW Forestwood for my lower cabinets. Would love to hear what you ended up doing and photos as well. Thanks!

@localeater Thank you. I love it! And I see how your book covers coordinate with your tile. I'm headed to SW now to get samples. Forestwood is top of my list.

@Mare M Any coordination of my cookbook covers to my tile is pure serendipity. :)

    I love when that happens!

That's a beautiful green. It coordinates well with the light wood, counters & darker hardware.

We have a rustic cabin in N GA needing a face-lift. So after alot of research we found this sample online and now trying to duplicate. We came up with sage green light for the main part of house and Sieinspiration. For door and window trim and deck surface. I'm in a quandary about what to do about handrails and lattice on bottom of cabin. My thought is stick to sage there also or try to find a complimentary olive green for railings and lattice. Third photo is my inspiation.
