I planted a small one in 1/2 day sunny, sandy area many years ago. I then ignored it and it took years for it to produce a flower and to start spreading.

I've not noticed bees or sulphurs there.

I've seen rave reviews of this plant as a ground cover, but in my yard, Asian Jasmine does much better as a ground cover - in both shade and sun (where it has overtaken this mimosa... the mimosa has improved since this happened).

This is a native plant in Florida. In the photo, there are quite a few weeds growing among the mimosa as it won't likely crowd everything out - at least not soon. Over time, it will grow and get denser. It's easy to care for as it needs no irrigation and can be mowed.

My whole front lawn is covered in this plant. I love it. It eventually takes over and crowds out the grass. Never needs watering (we have no sprinklers) and looks like a carpet.
