Vegetation maintenance

What type of maintenance is required for a yard like this? I love the look of landscaping but do not have the time or skill to maintain typical landscaping, nor the money to hire someone to do it for me. Is something more wild like this easier to maintain?

Did you get a response? If not, go to http://www.wildflowerfarm.com/?p=catalog&parent=4&pg=1 - this is the lawn that we put into part of our property that is difficult to mow - we only clean it up in mid-spring as it begins to come up and then just leave it be. Only good if you don't mind a shaggy look but it hasn't needed watering or fertilizing even during droughts.
