What do u think about trying something to coordinate with your sink? Are you looking for color? What about these?

Yes, I thought about stainless, but was looking for a little color. I know the granite is busy and that is what has me stumped when using color. Thank you for your input.

I would skip the pendants and go with 2 cans. The granite is busy(stunning) and I wouldn't want to distract the eye.

I like your pendant choice. Anything amber yellow would look great i think.

Good eye Amy .. I think red would be a great choice! Not sure if you have a Lowe's nearby, but they have red pendant lights at a decent price.

Wow! What wonderful ideas. Amy, you noticed my pop of red, I am working the red into the rug under the table . ,Essentials" you are right, the light over the table will not work. The Vitalia has a great series of choices.

Im with Marc on this one - can lights, or something REALLY minimal. The main reason I suggest this is because of being so close to the nook area - it clutters the view.
If your heart is set on it, careful on placement with 2 .. it may look unsettling to see a light close to the wall cabinetry.

things to think of other than the fixture ,,, are you going with a fixture that can have different bulb or are you committed to say a halogen bulb that might be difficult to change or a cfl that can not be dimmed if you want to put it on a dimmer switch . Are you thinking of going with led bulbs.... before you buy the pendent try changing the light bulb a few times ... do your fingers fit where they have to go to get the bulb changed?

The Vitalia does have a great series of choices. We actually sell them and they are very popular.

I don't think the pendants will interfere with the view of the breakfast table/nook (see examples below - different lights).



I agree that placement is important but I think having the pendants close to cabinets will be ok (see attached pic & vitalia by sink).

Abbottr where did you get those stools they would go perfect with my peninsula- we just remodeled and I have still been looking...

I have the same bar stools and purchased them from Grandin Road on line. They come in about 10 colors. Mine are in the "saddle" color and they go beautifully with our Sierra Bordeaux granite.

Personally i would skip the pennant and go for some gallery style lamp that you can decide where you want the light at. That way it places a focus on what you want while still giving you some nice bright light. and you can always get them with a dimmer if you want. Something like the ones shown below as example. Just my 2 cent.
