Creek side grass and plants #1

sandy (z5b nys)

I came across a tall grass and 2 flowering plants that I didn’t recognize growing on the banks of Catskill Creek, 30 miles south of Albany. This area floods in the spring and the water levels remain high until June, plus there’s tidal activity. The lower bank is rocky with lots of long crevices where the soil accumulates and plants are able to get a good foothold. It’s wet, but not at all marshy or boggy. Here’s the grass. I’m having a little trouble with the photos so I’ll put the other two plants in a separate post. I’d love to know your thoughts! Thanks.
