Looking for help! Mudroom/Laundry combo

We are in new construction, seeing it come to life I’m worrying about design of the Mudroom/laundry room combo. This is in our back ‘family’ entryway. My main concern is that we hang most of our clothes to dry. Trying to determine the best layout for this space, and wondering if it is truly large enough. If I need to steal space, it has to happen now. Sharing clip of that portion of the floor plan. Would love to see pics of your small mud/laundry combos and am open to your suggestions on design and layout.

Do you want to stack your washer & dryer? If you do that on the side where the closet is, it will give you hanging/sorting space to the side of them and your dryer can vent to the outside. "Mudroom" area on opposite wall.

If you don't want stackables, maybe something like the center section of this. Double trash pull outs for sorting laundry in the lower cabinets flanking the w/d. Hanging bar between the upper cabinets or forgo the uppers altogether and run your bar from wall to wall. Use the opposite side for your cubbies.

Where are you planning to place the machines? How many in your family? Are you in a climate with rain and snow?

Just off-hand, I’d suggest hinging the door on the left instead of on the right, and having hooks and drop space on the right, then dedicate the left side to laundry so you have room for the laundry baskets.

If you plan to hang your laundry, do you like to use floor racks, or racks that fold down from the wall, or hang over or the machines?

I have a combined laundry/mud room and I regret the decision. Like you, we hang many of our clothes to dry. The drying racks really dip into the flow of our mud room. Ours is fairly big ... not large, but not small.

Can you steal some space from the office to give you more room in the laundry/mudroom area?

Thanks all for your input. For answers to the questions asked - we will not be stacking...the machines will go on the wall to the left in the print. We've nixed the bi-folds and will have a counter top over the machines and a rod (maybe two) over that for hanging. The door will open to the right, so that you first see the wall shared with the office, not the laundry side. Unfortunately space has already been stolen from the office for head space for the stairs... We chalked some things out and I'm feeling a little better. Just isn't space to make it what you see in the pictures here, haha! But I know we'll love it regardless.
