Looks a bit like ' Xanadu ' Philodendron.

How does Xanadu Philodendron work? Will a stem cutting in water work? I'm a beginner when it comes to propagation. I dipped the end of the stem in rooting hormone and put it in a glass of water. I don't really know if that is the right way. Any help is appreciated.

If the “stem” really is part of the stem and not just a petiole, then there is a good chance it will root. I can’t tell from the picture...

That looks more like a leaf cutting -- which will not root. You need part of the actual stem.

propagation of philodendron should be the same across the family ... most likely no need to find directions for this one in particular .....ken
