I think the color you chose works well with your granite. Get grout samples and find one that is very close to the color of the tile (ideally just a tiny bit darker than your tile).

You need to place the tile samples next to your cabinets too.

You said you want your granite to be the star, but what calls the most attention in the room is the blue paint.

I would paint the walls a creamy white and have them cut a piece of the same counter top material to go around ..up to the window ..it's all the backsplash you really need ...and it will look like your counter is the STAR !

Pleas lose the blue walls as soon as possible? They are completely distracting from any result you want.

I'd have considered extending the kitchen to incorporate storage, eliminating the need for the heavy china cabinet, bar cart, ..........before the granite was installed. Oh well : )

I lived with white walls most of my adult life , we are military and moved every 3 yrs and this is out final home.. We happen to love the blue wall , and the back splash will cover everything below the cupboards and across the window so it wont be so prominent as it shows in the photos

I would choose the third from the top. The first two are too light and don’t match a color in the granite.

Oh dear, I agree with Jan--the blue walls do not do anything for the room. If you don't like white walls, then go with a warmer color--green would look great with your cabinets and granite. Then select one of the tiles in the first photo. Stay away from gray.

I too would change the color of the walls to a creamy white ...or white with a tinge of grey , then let the countertop be the star ...!

I think you can have blue walls if your backsplash is neutral. Just not the blue currently on the walls. See the dark bluish grey on the tile strip - imagine a lighter version of that. A soft bluish tone that is less turquoise. Your granite has that tone in it. This article just came out a day or so ago :

1,2 or 12 might work. But back to your tile. Best to show a pic of the tile vertical against the wall by the backsplash so we can see counter and cabinet at the same time. I think your choice could definitely work but best to look at it the way you will see it.

I think blue walls can work if they were toned down a bit. Your blue wall color is a gorgeous color but it's fighting with the other elements in the room. What color is that blue?

Maybe we can find one that would work better with your gorgeous granite and then find a blue tile that would also work with your blue walls?

Take the sample board and prop it up on the wall. The tiles will not be seen from a horizontal view and they could look different on the vertical.

If your granite is to be the star in your kitchen, I think you really need to tone down the blue on your walls. Your current blue color is very pretty but just looks too bright to me for a kitchen wall color. A less vibrant blue would compliment your beautiful granite better.

I know you weren’t asking for paint color advice, but I’m going to suggest Benjamin Moore Patriotic White which does look light blue on walls.

The blue is FANTASTIC! Pick it up with some accents across the room. Go with the tile you like.

I don't see anything else but the blue walls. I love blue, but this shade is just wrong for your kitchen. You could have the most stunning back splash and I would not even notice it. Please prime the walls, choose your back splash and then choose a paint color that makes it all work together.

Third from the top runs the risk of looking dingy. Best to get loose samples (a few of each) and look at vertical. Anything looked at horizontally will read darker viewed vertical.

Agree with the many comments above, the blue is the only thing that stands out and takes away from how pretty the granite is. There are definitely other options than white - as mentioned above. Good luck!

I like the third one, too. But do prop them up against the wall so you can see them perpendicular to the counter top. Don't go dark with the grout or white. Something a shade darker than the tile you pick will work.

Charming china cabinet. The blue walls are too bright. Would you mind just lightening them up a bit? The wood you have in there is gorgeous, and the color cheapens it a bit. Sometimes when we react to something, like your childhood white walls, we overcorrect.

As for your actual question, the lightest, creamy white would be my choice.

I seem to be in the minority but I like your blue walls and don't care for the neutral walls shown above. Your beautiful granite definitely stands out more with the wall color you have. I think either tile #2 or #3 would work.

Perhaps once the tile is chosen and up we may decide lighten the blue but probablyn not That blue makes me happy :) For those of you that suggested/liked the lighter tannish neutral walls I already have enough of that - my whole upper floor and stairwell is in that family, as well as my neutral bedroom and we wanted a wall that would pop and add contrast . I prefer lighter coloured granite to the dark stones and we have stainless fridge stove so wanted to incorporate that look too in our choice. Take a look and you'll see what i mean about neutral walls :)

It looks like a lot of the blue paint/wall in the actual kitchen space will be covered by tile so it won't be SO blue in that area. I love blue too, but I think yours is more of a kids' room blue/beach home blue. That said, if you love it, own it. I think the kitchen blue-ness will be toned down after the tiles are up (I agree with getting loose tiles and set up between counter and cabinet)

Gcubed I live on a big lake with 4 huge picture windows facing the water. My house is mostly colours from nature and yes the blue is like the lake. The photos are from my phone so may not show the true tone of the blue . it looks more baby blue in the photos above , when its actually a darker blue in person

I am looking for someplace that has loose tiles but most places direct me to a board of samples :(

for the blue if you look closely you'll see that I am going to lose most of it all under the cabinets/ side of windows will be a cream tile or something other than that biue., I honestly can't see why everyone wants it out of there so bad , it will be above the cabinets and in the dining area

kariyava i look at that muted blue and it feels more like a drab light gray :( Im not a fan of grays, have none in my home which is mostly neutrals with some blues, aqua and lots of wood and added colour from throws, pillows, and decor

I have similar cabinets. I realized that the backsplash needed to work with the cabinets as well as the counter. I could not decide between white or cream. While looked best with the counter, but cream worked best with the cabinets. I painted part of the backsplash white. Then I had the cream (alabaster) tile color matched and got a small sample jar of paint and painted another part of the backsplash. I changed from my initial pick of white to cream once I saw the big picture.

Going by my imperfect computer monitor, I like the second from the top of the glossy tiles too.

KEEP THE BLUE! It is gorgeous and unique.

You seem to have two different sample boards. On the creamy one, I lke the second. On the grayer one, I like the fourth (from lightest). The blue is going to fight with all of these tones though. No rush to decide about that.

You have a beautiful home and I love your new granite! I agree with the others, we see the bright blue walls first rather than your lovely kitchen. I'd choose a more muted blue (or green) for the walls as suggested by Kariyava. Choose your wall color LAST after choosing the tile and grout. For the tile, I would pick the lightest tile on the creamier palette.
