I know that this is white oak for sure. This is new flooring that has not been stained or sealed.

This shows one repaired plank. The repairs were done by previous homeowner using red oak. The repaired planks are obvious because they all have a slight pink tint.

1) Red Oak. 2) White Oak. 3) Not positive but left side looks white, right looks red. White Oak has much longer medullary rays showing on the surface. In the first picture, the short medullary rays clearly indicate Red Oak. They're easier to see on plain sawn wood.
