Lois, what size squares did you use?

Theresa, I never noticed the elongated stars until you mentioned them. The rectangles were cut 4.5"X8.5" and the white squares were 2.5" square. For a 36"X44" quilt, you'll need 58 blocks if you don't want to lose the points on the top and bottom blocks. I made only 54 blocks and cut four of them in half, but that meant I lost points on the full blocks that were at the top and bottom. I decided that that was okay with me. You might not want that.

Thanks Lois. I Googled Lozenge quilt and found a couple of different block sizes used.

I usually make what I call a floor quilt for the babies, made out of flannel. I will have to test out a couple of blocks first to see if the flannel will work.
