Upper Cabinets VS more open wall?

Which upper cabinet option do you prefer? The cabinets would be 48". The kitchen is a U shape, with upper cabinets along the right side wall. This is the back wall, with the sink, and I would like to open up the wall more so it doesn't feel so enclosed with the three uppers. Aesthetically, though, which do you think looks the best?

None on that wall replace the cabinets with a great piecce of art that you can enjoy every day. Make sure all your base cabinets are drawers and if you need storgae bet pull out paltries on the wall with the fridge. you will never miss those cabinets. This is a clients kitchen I replaced all the uppers on that wall with art

I'm sorry no one can make a decision in a void of just seeing one wall. A kitchen has to work as a whole. That means all cabinets, and all walls and also how it relates to any other spaces. Post the whole thing.

Three cabinets for both form and function.

Judging from only your drawing I think the two work. Not a fan of an over crowded window either

I agree with others that it depends on the rest of the kitchen. That said—and I’ll caveat that I’m not a pro— dont get rid of the uppers totally; 90% of the reason I needed to redo my kitchen was the lack of upper cabinets. I hated putting my dishes in a lower drawer. So excited to get my cabinets back!!

I like the threesome. But put glass doors in all three, or the middle, or the two outside cabinets....GLASS somewhere.

I like the first one--with three cabinets--because I like the same reveal on each side of the window. Other alternatives would be open shelves, or a piece of art, instead of the third cabinet:

I prefer windows to upper cabs any day. This illustrates why your shelves below are going to be a fail as far as accessibility goes. Make it an "all drawer" kitchen with a walk-in pantry and eliminate as many upper cabs as you can.

I like how the three cabinets frame the window.

I like a less crowded kitchen so would go with 2 uppers. In the space left I would some art work to add interest and balance to the space.

I am short - 5"1" and cannot use top shelf in my cabinets without a step stool and even the second shelf can be a pain if the item is heavy or pushed back - I am getting older too:) My dream kitchen would have almost no uppers and lots of windows and art. Now that is specific to me. Your situation may be quite different.

    I prefer the three cabinets.

Going with the 3 upper cabinets. The U shape kitchen faces an open dining/living area with 8' windows and large patio sliding doors along the opposite wall. The kitchen cabinets will be BM November Rain, carrara grigio quartz countertops, Ivory subway tile, SW Shoji white kitchen walls, SW Pure White trim, solid hardwood floors in maybe Provincial stain, knobs in Polished Nickel ideally.... so with all the uppers, the kitchen should still feel airy, light, cozy...!
