We have demolished the raised brick heart on our floor to ceiling fireplace and plan to replace it with a flat floor level tile heart. The brick is uneven and unsightly in the area where we removed the hearth. We are looking for ideas on how to cover it - matching tile from hearth or other ideas? We plan to paint the entire fireplace (it extends into the room about eight inches) a medium grey. Thinking either complimenting or matching tile color. It is wood burning but we don’t plan to use it. What do you all think about how best we can modernize the fireplace, heart and surround area. Thanks. Milly
