We have a similar toilet to the American Standard one in our master. One of the bolts broke and it was a real PIA to repair since the bolts are hidden inside the bottom.

So get the one you like the best IMO unless you spend a lot more money most toilets are all the same.

I do like the dual flush function though.

If those are the only choices, it would be Number 2 because it is skirted and the exposed trap is difficult to clean and also ugly.

In terms of cleaning, mine isn't self cleaning but it's a Toto with a surface that is supposed to be extra slick and easy to keep clean. It's low flow and it never shows that it needs cleaning although it gets cleaned once a week for sanitary reasons. I also splurged on a Toto washlet which is almost one of the most favorite things I love about my bathroom remodel.

I just got finished cleaning my master bath. Not only is it a PIA to fix a broken bolt on the skirted toilet, but you can not tighten the seat. Mine is loose and there is no way of tightening it. Plus because of the way the seat fits we can't put a bidet on it. To me AS tried to build a better mouse trap and failed. If we ever have to get rid of it I sure will not buy one like it.
