washer and dryer relocation

Hello!

I see many post here for great advice. I just purchased a home in May and there many projects to tackle. The most urgent being new washer and dryer. In doing this I would like to relocate them. I can’t decide if up the third floor into linen closet or into the garage. I just don’t like them in basement. I might I have three little ones and work full-time.

With children you need the machines to be as convenient as possible. Is your garage attached? Where are the hookups now?

They in the unfinished basement . We would need new hookups for whichever place I take them too.

Basement or garage would be best if something went wrong like a hose burst (otherwise you could have a waterfall through levels of the house).

Whatever you do, wherever you decide to relocate your machines .... put absolute priority on the shortest and straightest possible exhaust route for the dryer. Directly straight through an exterior wall is best.
