BOM September.

This will be attempt number five to post this.

We have had several Star blocks in this BOM so this one is not a star but a quick and simple block called Broken Sugar Bowl.

It is quite easy but don't let "Easy" fool you. I had to redo one whole block because I had units in the wrong position. Does that sound familiar Lois?

Wow! Five times since last night to get this up. And I have had to sign in five times as well. I don't think Houzz likes me.

Anyway... if you do a Google or Pinterest search, you will see lots of examples. I will be anxious to see your versions.

Just an added remark. I usually read Bonnie Hunter's blog every day. One night this past week, I dreamed she was having a workshop at my house, a mighty small one. The following morning, in her sign off quilt and quote, she used this block. Mine were already made so that was spooky!

Yes, Theresa, that does sound familiar. I can see where this one might be a tad tricky too, Pretty block.

Nice choice for this months BOM, Theresa.

I've had trouble posting for a new thread for the last 3 months! That's why there was no Goals thread for August. I'm not sure I'll even try for Sept. As you know, it's a pain!

Nice block, Theresa, and yours are lovely! I can't wait to put one together, but not sure when I will get to it.

I sewed the first block in three colors. Once done, I realized I had been using off-white for the neutral in the other blocks. So I'll add white going forward, so this block doesn't stick out in the quilt. Then I started a second block with two colors and did sewed the first pieces right sides together, so will have to rip. I'll blame this on the anesthetic, even though it's been three months.

I'll try again. First time it didn't post. I made this with three colors. When I was finished, I realized I used white and all the other blocks included off white. So going forward, I'll incorporate more white so this block doesn't stick out of the quilt. I got the three color idea from a video from Quilt In a Day. I made a drawing from the video. However, I just checked it out and I must of drawn the center wrong. The white squares there should have been the flowered fabric.

What a mess I made of it this month!!!

There are no mistakes in quilting, only variations on a theme. I really like this version. When I looked at Pinterest, I saw several different arrangements of fabric. So it is your block, you can do what you like. Again, really nice!

I don't care for my fabric selection here at all. But at least I finished it.

If you do another, Bev, I think it would look awesome if you swapped out a solid scarlet or royal blue for the red with the little yellow flowers :-)

Great idea on the blue. I would love that. I bought this collection of fabrics from a resale shop and there weren't any solids with it, although I figured there was enough for a queen size quilt. I really need to pick some up. I've found a few scraps I could use in my scrap collection, but not many.

I think I'm caught up now! Finally had a little time to get down in my sewing room. I used more than two fabrics. It's a nice block!
