Need help with window placement

Our living room gets very little light. We have one bay window on the sw facing wall that gets ambient light and our nw facing wall has no windows.

Since it’s an exterior wall I’m wanting to add a window but I’m torn on where the place it.

Heres a pic of our nw facing wall where the window would go.

Big center window
Two narrow windows on the sides
I have a better idea (comment below)

The living room in the blank wall in front of the pipe at the front of the house.

Not sure why the pics keep loading blurry but the house is a 1920’s bungalow with double tear drop wood siding.

Is this a TV room? If so, glare from windows needs to be considered. I don't see any lamps or lighting in this room. That would be my first attack of the problem. Painting the walls with a more reflective level of paint would help too. Where will you put furniture if you add windows?

I typically keeps lights off during the day because I prefer natural light if it can be had. We have one 5 light fan combo. The tv is directly opposite of the couch and all furniture will stay where it is. It’s a very small room and there’s no other place to put it.

Fan lights are ambient; you turn them on to see how to get into the room in the dark, or you run the fan to circulate air. Once in the room ceiling fixtures of most sorts should be dimmed down so that task and accent lights (table, floor and art and up lamps) can be turned on to add intimacy and ambiance, as well as practical functionality. Let's see all walls and furniture in your room, so a better arrangement that would allow you to add appropriate lighting can be suggested. It would be in your best interest to start with lighting; some newer lighting can be almost like natural. You might also consider adding a skylight because you'll lose wall space for furniture if you add windows.

Curtains look gray but they’re actually blue.

Accent wall color was a mistake. I’ll be painting it back to alabaster shortly.

I actually think if I were considering putting holes in the walls, I would move the door the other direction so it aligns with the hallway. Right now, people have to cross in front of the TV to get from the front door to the rest of the house. The mirrors could draw light across the room if they were hung opposite the bay window. Place the sofa where the cabinet is and hang the two mirrors 5" above it with one hand's breadth between them. Angle the chair and footstool where they are and put the cabinet where where you have the decor shelf. Use the second footstool as a coffee table topped with a tray and 18" or less from the sofa. Try semi-sheers instead of the blinds and curtains; they should allow more light and some privacy. Try semi-sheer cafe curtains in the bay for additional light and softness.

That’s a good suggestion. My only concern is that the couch isn’t angled for comfortable tv viewing but we may give it a shot anyways.

Looks like the reclining position your son has taken would be exactly right for watching TV. It won't cost you anything to try the arrangement out. That's really the best way to judge a matter. Push and shove and then post pix.
