Actually I think I lost one because I watered it too much. Or perhaps it’s soil mix was a little less porous. Just don’t know why it died. Ever since I’ve become nervous about how much to water.

Echolane are you in the bay area also? I would love to have Lewisia but I have heard it does not like extreme heat. Over 100 is not rare where I live.

Yes, I am in the Bay Area, but as you probably know we have many microclimates. I live in an area that might be described as the foothills of the coast range on the east side. So we have morning fog sometimes spilling over the hills which can keep our summers cold. But at the same time, during heat cycles we get hotter than communities east of us. We also get colder so it can be confusing to classify.

My Lewisias are located on the northeast side of my house so they get good morning sun until about noon on the longest days of the year. They seem to thrive in this location.

I love your lewisas.I bought 2 of them over a year ago and they just keep on blooming and blooming.The leaves on mine don't look as healthy as yours,perhaps mine get's too much sun,as they are on the south side of the house. Here are a couple of pictures.
