We need pictures too. I especially think of your floor - is it golden wood or warm? Is the golden browns of counter tying in with a nearby room?

I do not have any pictures yet, as of right now my kitchen is in demo mode. I will upload as soon as progress is made. I have very unique flooring that is throughout my entire house. It is large tile that is dark gray with golden browns in it. It is very hard for me to explain the way it looks, so let me find a picture and I will post it. With how dark and busy my floors are is why I was thinking the white subway tiles at first to keep it simple and classic and not clash.

The counter tops are already a mistake. Try a soapstone. You are in VERY different palettes, different style flavors as well. The quartz is too glitzy for the flooring, and too busy - you are jamming a square peg in a round hole.Use a deeper, plainer top. Soapstone, a HONED absolute black granite, both far better than your selection. Then a very simple splash in white subway that matches cabinets with the palest gray grout. I like that floor tile. But I don’t think the countertop material that you have chosen will go with it at all. Since you have that floor tile throughout your home, try to choose a countertop material that is in the warm tones, or black, instead of in the cool/gray tones.

I agree bad choice for counters ans backsplash should be chosen after everything else is in I agree soapstone for the counters .
