victorian house trim restoration

My house is a circa 1880 Victorian. It has, alas, been altered on the outside and most of the original details are gone and replaced with vinyl siding and trim. There are other similar period and style homes in my neighborhood which have brackets along the eaves and headers on top of the windows. The one difference being that my house has an unusual recessed entry corner porch which I am fairly certain once had some gingerbread trim. Looking at the photos of my eaves, I think my house, too, used to have brackets and no shutters. Does anyone else agree?
