How much are you planting and what type of plants?

I would probably start by digging the planting holes and filling them with water and then letting it drain, plant, and then water enough to settle them in. Unless they are tiny seedlings they shouldn’t need water more than a couple of times a week. If they are tiny, then a couple of gallon jugs, drizzled on them every day or two days should work. Give the soil a light layer of mulch to reduce evaporation, though not against the stem; leave a couple of inches of bare soil around the stem(s).

Thank you. I didnt know. I was under the impression that they needed watering everyday or two. while most are indeed plants from pots purchased in a nursery, some are also transplants from other garderns. no seedlings however.

the plants are mostly hosta, Siberian iris, and boxwood transplants, along with some distressed raspberries from the box store that were on sale.

interestingly the tree hydrangeas with white flowers were droopy, these were planted well over five years ago.
