You chose -- clearly like like -- blue and white so those are the obvious choices for your backsplash but your do have some gray in your countertop.

How "busy" do you want your backsplash? One color or two or three? How ornate do you want it -- much design do you want it to have as opposed to ... say ... subway tile in a brick shape?

There really isn't any blue in the kitchen - the countertop is gray and white nad walls are BM Stonington Gray. I don't want the backsplash to be too busy becuase I think the countertop is. I'm thinking one color and something that maybe adds texture or dimension. I like subway tile as well though -

Beautiful kitchen. What about a shade of gray from the counter in a different shape tile (or stick with subway). If you can find the perfect shade of white from counter that would work but may be hard.
Could you use counter material for splash?

I love beveled white subway tile if you want just texture there and not color, and the bevel catches the light and looks elegant, or look for a glass subway tile in a light shade of the gray vein in the cambria. I say let the veining shine and leave the backsplash as something simple like a subway tile.

I think a beveled or shaped white tile would look great. You could also do a very subtle colored tile to tie in with colors in your adjacent rooms. Your choices so far are very nice.

White subway tile with grey grout definitely. If you like color I do like the pictures above of the subdued hues like light blue or sage green... I just think you can’t go wrong with white subway tile. People also do the countertop as a backsplash, it’s a very clean uniform look. I like the texture of tile personally, but since you already know you like the countertop you could try it. Maybe get a square or something and lay it above the cooker and get a feel?
