Beautiful pics Helen, you sure have some beautiful stripes. How would you compare Hynotized with Broceliande? How about Neil Diamond compared to Rock & Roll?

That's an interesting one too! It's a more subtle stripe, very pretty.

Ben, my Rock and Roll is finally blooming . It has been 3 years of very few blooms. This year it has bloomed more but not a ton .

It is ok, but looking at the pictures of Neil Diamond I am sorry that I didn't get that one instead

Ben, I don’t have Broceliande so I have no idea. I have both Rock n Roll and Neil Diamond. ND is better than RnR over all. However, I like to have both because ND is pink striped and RnR is red striped. Helen

Thanks Helen and Kristine. I almost got a ‘Rock & Roll’ , but couldn’t resist getting another Neil Diamond instead. I tried Scentimental many years ago, it was too fleeting in my area.

Ben, RnR is a good cut rose and last long in a vase. However, compared against the perfect rose ND, I don’t think many roses can beat it. I agree about Scentimental. My cut rose garden is too small for a rose that doesn’t last long in a vase. Helen

I’ve been tempted to do some public garden ‘Rose Rustling‘ myself. There is a lady in Dallas who was famous for her rose garden, which had many European varieties I’ve not seen for sale anywhere. A few years ago, she donated them to the Dallas Arboretum, and moved to a house that was mostly shade. I didn’t know her well enough to ask her why she gave up rose gardening, but she still maintains her website

Anyhow, I’ve always wanted to sneak out a few cuttings from the arboretum...perhaps I could volunteer to help with pruning next spring, lol.

Seems like her interest was in traditional exhibition HTs...pinpoint centers, spirals. Still I can probably find tons of European traditional HTs I’d like to try. I told my rose crazy friend that she had to bail me out if I got arrested for rose rustling, and in return I’d root one out for her, too :-)

How is yours doing? I bought one this year, bare root and it just had it's first bloom. It is really pretty.

Do you have any pictures of it as a full plant? This is my first grafted rose so I'm not sure what to expect. Right now it is just a twig.

mmmm, that's a beautiful bloom of Hypnotized. I got mine from J&P sale, so the plant wasn't very vigorous to start with and I have it in a pot so it isn't doing great. However, each bloom is really gorgeous. It looks the same as the last whole plant pic that I posted above. I should repot it in a bigger pot with better potting soil. I read some where saying that it's better to mix 1/2 garden soil with Miracle-Gro potting soil for pots so I tried it last year with some of my pots. I have learned that it's a bad idea for my garden. I need to find time to repot all of those, lol. Helen
