Retractable bug screens

I like the concept of retractable bug screen sold in home depot. Can anyone share their practical experience with it? Is it easy to replace the mesh or replace it with a thicker mesh so that it can double as a sunblock? It also does not fit one of my larger windows. Has anyone tried to build a larger version of it? Any DIYs would also help to reduce cost. Has anyone built hideaways at the top of the window for these? Pictuerw would greatly help.

They are awesome, but I always purchase from phantom screen, I can’t imagine this as a diy...

Phantom screens operate side to side, the rolled up screen is stored vertically. Match it to your trim color and it basically disappears.

I have to agree with Hallett & Co. We are a direct competitor of Phantom Screens, but our retractable screens are stored horizontally with a panel box to hide the screen when not in use.
