I borrowed the vase/pics from the middle pic above, and stuck in a smaller lamp. i like how the twigs compliment the paper. you don't have to do art. a mirror would work too

Either continue the paper down the whole wall, or add white moldings to the edges so the ends look intentional. The inside edges of the white molding should line up with the ends of the credenza. I would keep your decor very simple, with a large metal framed round mirror, your lamp, and a tray.

the wall art came w/the photoshop! I'd do a mirror. a round one to break up all the sharp edges you have. do a gold, or find one in the gold nickel bead.

Here’s my take on it. With size of that beautiful console, i would use two lamps and one mirror with dark framing to calm some of the busy but pretty wallpaper.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the purpose of wallpapering part of a wall and then covering it up with a console and a large mirror. You probably don't want to hear this, but I would remove it and paint the wall the same color as the rest of the foyer. The wallpaper would look great in a small powder room, or framed as a a few others have suggested.

Wall paper as mural--is that a thing?

Not a pro, however that the wallpaper does not extend to a natural stopping point (corner, etc.) at least to my eye, makes it stand out even more. Like a giant mural.

IMO it is odd for that strip of wallpaper either lose it or wallpaper the whole wall. Then something like this the credenza is too big for the space

It is an entryway and right spot for mirror. I like starburst mirrors and I would get a runner.

Please forgive me for saying this but having the wallpaper behind the console with nothing to end it looks odd. Either frame the edges of the wallpaper with some wood trim, or have the wallpaper go the full length of the wall. Right now it just looks like you either ran out of paper or got tired of wallpapering.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images Are you able to put the mirror and vase, etc on the original pic that is head on so I can see what it will look like? The starburst mirror looks like it could work. Any thoughts on a dark rug to offset some of the dark of the wallpaper?

can you take another picture showing most of that wall? maybe another angle? lets see the paper in relation to the room

If you love the wallpaper, paper the whole wall. Celerygirl did an awesome rendering with it above. She might have gone a bit overboard on the mirrors, but I think her idea is on the right track.

More wallpaper or none.

We are "re-doing" most all of our first floor and the foyer is the last thing on the list. Phew.

80sgirl, it does help to see how the entry relates to the rest of the space, something we never saw before. And now that wallpaper strip looks even more wrong. Either paper the whole wall, or take it down.

Was there a special reason you chose to not paper the whole wall or just frame some panels like art?

If you paper the whole wall, I'd keep the decor simple because the paper is busy. Here's a big round mirror, large elephant sculpture, and an orchid for a bit of color. I don't like any lamp here with the overhead pendant you have, so I'd eliminate that.

I also think the console is just too visually heavy for the space, a problem that might be alleviated by adding legs.

I would suggest finishing that wall and also papering the front door wall, stopping in the inside corner. In so doing you will have a more well-defined foyer area.

I think groveraxle did great. I would add one element. Change the entry light fixture to repeat the black. Three black items will create cohesion. Something like this.

Definitely either paper the whole wall or remove it entirely.

the entire wall with wallpaper is not busy. It is rich, bold and fancy. Without it will be only another poor gray boring room. I would wallpaper the entire entryway

Now I just need to find some stuff to put on top of the credenza.

In fact, I might change the lamps to something darker though.
