Living room drapes- please help!

Hi, we just purchased this rug. Please help me figure out what to do for window treatments. Can you mix patterns? The panel in pic doesn’t work. My house house feels very blue and white- can I introduce a new color here? I want them to look neat and more formal than casual. I’d like a print if possible because wrinkles don’t show as much. Thank you!!

I would do a blue linen for drapes I am rarely a lover of patterened drapes they tend to make other choices more difficult and wrinkles need to be ironed out before hanging and honestly never get wrinkled once the drapes are hung.My other suggestion you probably will not like but I would remove those shelves and hang the TV there and adda great piece of art above the FP. Those flowered pillows are not working for me but I do like the pink in them in that space so maybe just find a pillow that works better with the rug and those are a good example of how the more print you have going on the harder to make them work.Maybe a plain darker pink for the chairs and a vase with pink flowers

Do you want to be able to throw the curtains in the washer and dryer or will you be sending them out for dry cleaning? Pleats or rod pocket?

Pleat or hanging on rings and dry clean. Whenever I do linen the wrinkles never come out- even at the dry cleaner or with an at home steamer.

I would probably do a neutral linen drapery to keep things simple and classic. You could have a flat band added to lead edges for interest and a custom look. However, I think you have an opportunity to make this room sing with a dramatic paint color. I really like your area rug, so

Here are some options to get that rug to work in the room.

Switch out the blinds for Bamboo or Woven wood shades to pull in the color of your sofa so the room is so very WHITE.

I'd select a linen like dark blue for the drapery panels

Or a minimal pattern that is MOSTLY BLUE.

Here is the room if you had selected a rug that at least picks up the color of your sofa. The room would be a bit more interesting. Same solution for the drapery panels.

Look for an all-cotton or cotton-polyester blend to avoid the linen wrinkling problem. Lined panels on rings or pleated will give a good, substantial appearance.
