I can't help you with the row quilt question. I don't remember any. Yesterday I finished the coin quilt. I'll post a pic once I wash it. (I need to buy some more Color Catchers today)

Right now I am heading up to work on the BOM and maybe later start quilting another sandwiched UFO.

It is a beautiful day and I'm tempted to do some garden clean up too.

Just got in from the garden, Bev, but everything is still so wet from all the rain we've had.

I've been going through my stash looking for fabrics for my Compelling Women quilt. I found beautiful fabrics for the outer border, cornerstones and sashing the other day at my LQS. I've found quite a few in my stash that look good with the border fabric, but I fear the quilt is going too brown. I think I still need to buy some sage green Civil War prints. I want this one to be greener.

I'm working on placemats for my daughter's new kitchen. They are really turning out great.

I've also been thinking about a quilt for my sister's new home. She and her significant other are rehabbing an old house in Connecticut. They're both sailors, so I was thinking a Storm at Sea would be a good pattern for them. I've always wanted to make one. Has anyone on this forum made one? Did you paper piece or use templates?

Friday, I got up my courage and took a trip to the SR Harris fabric warehouse. I've stayed away from it previously, because I really don't shop well in huge, not well-organized places, but I needed some quilt backs. All the fabric is 50% off marked prices. There is an incredible amount of fabric of all sorts there. They had a lot of name brand fabrics and also a lot of cheaper stuff that was coarsely-woven and very stiff. But I found two lovely pieces of Andover fabrics for $6.50 per yard. You cut your own fabric, mark the price and yardage on a sticker, and return the bolts to the racks. Now I want to go back.

Lois, that sounds like a very interesting store! I'd think shoppers would be very tempted to cheat on the measurements of their yardage.

I didn't do any sewing this weekend. Took my car for servicing on Saturday. This was the first time since the maintenance warranty ran out. I sure will miss those free service trips! LOL

I cut a shoe box about half full of scraps into strips on Sat. and on Sun. I cut some pieces for bow ties that I'm using as leaders & enders. Having had a burst of creativity over the last four weekends I'm now having trouble finding a direction. I think I'm overwhelmed by the projects on hand. It seems my to-do list never changes! And when I saw how many strips of various widths I've accumulated, that made me feel overwhelmed, too. What will I do with them all?!

So now I've decided to dig out the king-size quilt top from the bottom of the stack and GET.IT.DONE. I have backing and binding fabric and I think I have enough batting, so no more excuses. I think if I can get that biggest unfinished project done it might help me feel less overwhelmed. The top has been done for several years and I just never seem to get to it.
