Kitchen drawer innards

October 9, 2019

I've had deep kitchen drawers for 14 years, and I love them. All my pots and pans go in there, as well as my husband's bike water bottles, and one drawer, my fave, holds all that weirdo unclassified stuff: hand blender, scale, sifter, cheese graters, nut chopper, mortar and pestle, lemon juicer, funnels, etc.

In our new house, I'll have more drawers, and less upper storage. I'm planning on using them for plates, mugs, and glasses.

Question #1: I've seen pictures of vertical dowels intended to keep the dishes from moving around. But are they really necessary? I use that rubbery mesh drawer liner stuff now, and it seems to keep everything from shifting.

Question #2: Any other organizing ideas for the drawers?
