Tilt the tiles onto the wall so that they are vertical above your horizontal counters - the light will hit them a little differently, and that might help you if you are deciding between two tiles - as might the relative darkness of the area to be tiled.

I wouldn't rule out a shape for the tile. Keep it warmly white which keeps it subtle : but do you feel it has to be a subway configuration? Your big open space can handle a feature like that. Maybe look at various things. The colors you show in a subway .... just not enough going on .

Have you picked yet? I like the two on the left, with a slightly contrasting grout. We just installed white, beveled subway tile with our Ironsbridge, and I’m very happy with it! Good luck!

The first two from left would look great, with a greige grout.

We went with the greige tile but haven’t installed yet! Hopefully in next 2 weeks

Any picture of your new backsplash yet?’ I just had my Ironsbridge installed and also have white cabinets and hardwood floors and I’m having a terrible time deciding what to do for my backsplash!

Kelly Baker what is your tile color and brand? And what color is your paint? Your kitchen looks very similar to mine and I’m trying to pick backsplash now

I went with BM Edgecomb Gray paint & I can’t remember the tile brand but color was called Whisper. We painted in February after this pic. I’ll find out tile brand & post pics tmrw.

Nicky Marie I would love to see your pics! I looked for tile color called Whisper and came up with several. One was Whisper White, others were gray. I still haven't chosen. I want to keep things light, but with white cabinets and Ironsbridge, I think I need something besides stark white. Thanks!

@kpw118 love your kitchen ! Can you give me some more information on the tile you selected (where did you purchase, maybe item number, etc.) and what brand of paint and color are your cabinets?

Hi Kathleen. The cabinets are Merillat Masterpiece Collection. The door style is Martel in Dove White. The back of the peninsula and island are the color Midnight. The tiles are a white beveled tile from Floor & Decor! They are nice and thick, which looks great on the wall! I nearly paid 8x more for the exact same tile from a designer tile store before my contractor showed me these.

Here is our Ironsbridge with white cabinets. Warm medium dark hardwoods and SW Aesthetic White paint. We LOVE this tile. Adex Ocean collection. The color is called Whitecaps

Opdos—Love your tile! Would you say your tile looks more taupe or more grey? I’d like to pull out the taupe in Ironsbridge. your last picture looks more yellow than first three pictures. Is there any yellow in it? Was Whitecaps the lightest color next to white in the Ocean tile tile? And what color grout did you use and how thick? Thank you!

Oh Lordie! I just saw this. So sorry!! But maybe this will help someone else. The tile is the perfect mix between gray and taupe. I actually don’t like gray but I love this. It’s just that kind of a color that will look how you need it to look with whatever you put it with. That last picture that looks yellow was because I had the under counter lighting turned to a warmer hue. My under counter lighting is tunable from warmer to the cooler lighting on the Kelvin scale. There is no yellow in it at all. And yes whitecaps is the lightest color that they make that tile in. I believe there were four colors and this was the lightest

Thank you so much for responding. We actually have not yet installed it but are very close and your response makes me feel so much better about having chosen it. I was having doubts that the whitecaps would not be enough contrast with the white cabinets and the white of ironsbridge (we will have a walnut top on island) but I love the look in your pictures so feel so much better! So appreciate your response!

Hi @Opdos I really like your kitchen with white cabinets and Ironsbridge countertops and your backsplash. I wanted to confirm with you that your backsplash is Whitecaps and not Surf Gray. From AdexUSA website (Ocean Collection), yours looks more like Surf Gray. I plan to get samples, but I haven’t yet determined who sells this tile in the U.S. I sent them a request today for information.
