As for the weeds. well, it is a small area, I would continue with manual control. It is a healthy approach even if causing fatigue at the beginning.

We’d love to do this herbicide free but don’t think that’s an option considering the vine like spread of the weed. See pic - blue flower vine weed taking over sections - and we can’t find the root source when pulling.

Looks like dove weed. Dove weed is very hardy. If you pull it out and throw it somewhere, it will regrow. The only way I got rid of it is to put it in waste bin. You can try pre-emergent like Preen to stop the seed from sprouting. Other than that, need to handpulled it :(. I was considering perennial peanut for my backyard too, but the thought of hand weeding kinda stop me...

The weed looks like Climbing Dayflower. Poorly named, because it is not much of a climber. Should be called Creeping Dayflower. An attractive enough plant, as are many weeds until they decline and brown and shrivel.

Have been using Preen and hand pulling. It’s not as bad as it was but I’d like it to be better.@sherry day if you find a cheaper mix let me know.
