If your kitchen is still in the 70’s, keep the door. It wasn’t the best of times for kitchens. I shudder to think of our first kitchen. The brown appliances and the flowered wallpaper….I don’t know how we swallowed our food.

Privacy from what? Take it off if its in the way.

I agree why do you need it at all. Most people all end up in the kitchen anyway but posting pictures is always a good idea.

I would only remove it if it was in the way. There are times you don't want a visitor seeing the kitchen.

Thanks for your comments. This is the view from just inside the front door. If a visitor stopped by, I might not want them to see everything. The 70s design is not an open one.

I guess it depends where you want to immediately direct most of your guests. Keeping that open certainly invites them to head to the kitchen, but a door with definitely deter them from walking on through.

Everyone has a kitchen............: I really don't see the problem. You're so formal they don't follow you there for a cup of brew or tea or whatever? If it's going to bother you leave the door. But a vast majority live in pretty open spaces these days: )i

You can always take the door off the hinges and live like that for a bit to see how you like it. If you don’t, hang the door back up.

You could compromise and change the door to a pair of saloon doors.
