Smoke detectors

I need to make cuts in existing hardwood flooring for repair purposes. my smoke alarms go off immediately. They are hard wired. should I simply unplug the detectors and take the detectors down and store them in my truck while I make the cuts? Or am I missing something and there is an easier way? It’s a new const. home and while the breakers are lableled I see no label that shows the breakers on any one breaker that I can flip off. I’m assuming g the batteries in the detectors will cause them to work even if they had no power anyway
