They’re both really nice, so you can’t go wrong, but I personally like the lighter, just keeps the room a little more airy.

Paint a few large sample boards of each color. Then see what speaks to you more.

Both colors are lovely, but my concern is the low light. Treating it like a north facing room, please consider red walls. You need vibrant colors, not darker subdued ones.

You did a great job with the renderings. Give B.M. Pomegranate and Million Dollar Red a chance.

I think the previous owner went with this red theory because accent walls are painted light brick color. It looks horrendous in that space. Also I don't like red-ish colors personally so basically anything in that vein is a complete non-starter for me.

I am leaning towards navy. I really love navy and mineral gray has been my "safe" color because I am afraid of the boldness that comes with navy/white contrast. But is is also run as a vacation rental for 2/3 of the year so needs to appeal to broader tastes I guess. Watching this poll is a real nail biter

Oh, and yes the room has windows facing North and West (the wall straight ahead is west)

I would be concerned about the low light, and feeling like a cave, with a very dark color.

Sorry neither. With snow outside, the contrast will be even greater and render the paint darker than it appears

Navy please. So tired of gray in everyone’s home

So i went to the store and got 2 mini walls painted in these colors. The gray looks good and i really love it, i may use it in the bathroom. But the navy i think looks phenomenal, especially against white walls, wood and gold accents

This is in the dark with electric (LED) lights on.. will post how it looks in daylight in the morning

I just painted my walls gray and it’s nice but...I gave into my inner desire in a small passage way area and it’s so dark and moody, in a oh so good way. But I think it would be scary in whole living room. You have so many windows and white trim, I don’t think it will overtake the room.

Take the plunge and go with navy. It is striking. When I am looking at a vacation rental, I appreciate staying in a place that has decoration that is a bit daring, perhaps something I would be afraid to do in my own home but get to live with for a week or weekend. I think navy would be appealing and attractive and entice people because it isn't just an average backdrop. Go for it!

Here's another thing to consider. If it is a vacation rental, which color will look better in photos on the internet, which is how many people choose their vacation rentals.

So I went ahead and painted in navy and white, just got a photo from my contractors of what it looks like (the place isn't finished yet but you can see the colors). I am so glad I did it. To my taste, this looks amazing, love the striking navy on white difference, and it doesn't look dark at all even in an iphone non professional photo. I can't wait to decorate this :) thank you everyone. For reference, there's a "before" photo of the same room.
