If the sconces can be taken out and wall repaired I would do that also.

I love a beautiful nocturnal or dreamy painting above a bed. Maybe you can find something that works with your palette.

Option 1 -
a mirror above the headboard sounds good too, but I would go with a rectangular shape instead of round .

Option 2-
Because the space looks a little tight and to give it a de clutter look also, putting. A mirror behind the side tables with some nice inbuilt scones / lights above them will also give a room a good look . ( in this case u can skip putting anything above the headboard )

Play soft texture with not too busy bedding but not too plain. Since u have a busy rug ..

I am also not a pro. I agree that painting the vent to match the wall would make your space more visually appealing. Also, the combination of lamps and sconces so close to each other is overwhelming; keep either the lamps or the sconces (choose according to your lighting preferences) but not both.

Ideally I would center bed and sconces on the wall.

I like something round above the bed that softens all those corner angles.

Here is something round

Do you love the blue in your carpet? Do you love the taupe walls?

I always start with a whole home color pallet before I go to the details.

If you love the colors that are in the bedroom and they work with the colors in the rest of the house and you love the carpet and bed then I would replace the bedside tables with taller tables that match or are slightly lighter than the headboard, decide if I want wall sconces or lamps and replace one or the other and have the other removed.

For bedding I would pick a solid quilt that has a design in the quilt rather than stripes.

I would change out the window treatment - if you like a valance have it match either your bedding or the headboard. Other option is curtains that either match the bedding or the headboard.

Last thing to pick is the art. I would do a painting above the headboard. You want it to be 2/3rd the width of the bed Find something with the blue, cream, taupe colors that are in the bedding, headboard and carpet. Find something that you love. Art is way of expressing who you are, so it has to be something you love.

Art isn't a piece of furniture you pick up at Pottery Barn (though they do have some art works there). An art work that speaks to you sets the feeling you want in your room. Since you've already chosen colors you like, and they do work well together then, sure, choose your art now. But honestly, most people who love art start with an art work first then choose furnishings that tie in with the art, not the other way around. I hope you find something wonderful that creates the feeling you want in your bedroom. The furniture is secondary.

Have you considered board and batten behind the bed to help fill the tall space. It may help the room feel more cozy. Here's a couple bedrooms with tall angled ceilings that use board and batten.

What color would you paint it?

Are you asking what color would I paint the wall if you used board and batten? Personally I think white would look great and it would brighten it up a bit. But, I also think you could paint it in the color you have on the wall now.

Can you show a couple pics of the entire room so I can see what else is going on on the other side of the door and to get the big picture of the entire look of the room.
