Have you searched Pinterest, anything you gravitate towards that you could share as a start? Is this a remodel, and if it is do you have pictures of the ‘before’?

I don't think the arched opening is going to look great right over the basement door. It should be to one side or the other.

Why dont you rotate the stairs to lower level and place the opening opposite the pantry or along that hall. It's weird to have a door to basement in the living room.

I see many issues with this design, but if you just want interior design ideas, it shouldn't be hard. Your ideabooks seem to lean toward photos of mostly neutral looks. So go with lots of off whites, creams and beiges or grays and add a few areas of color. Make sure you add lots of textures, otherwise neutrals can get very boring over time.

lol well now you have me curious. I got all the plans finalized but if you have some areas that I can do without going crazy on huge changes, I would defiantly be open to suggestions. I have reasons for all I did in the design.

I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel so just sharing something that was shared on my design. With your island seating aren't you suppose to have 2 feet per seat? Looks like you only have 8 feet for 5 seats. So that would be cramped? Also where is your microwave? Is that two dishwashers? One on either side of your sink?

DesignFix, I like that idea, but we were thinking more blocking noise and smells.
