Most people who have both wind up using the induction full time.

I do have a dual fuel cooktop. I use induction for boiling water, or when I need to keep something at a low simmer (soups, steel-cut oats, etc). I still use the gas burners for most of my cooking and will occasionally move to induction if I need to hold the temp steady (whether low or high).

I have a Lacanche. I'm not sure if you can get their induction hob on their 36" range, but it is offered on their larger models.

I think, for the most part, having a dual-fuel hob is a bit gimmicky. Both induction and gas are perfectly great choices, and the differences aren't really all that big in day-to-day use.

One of the big advantages with the dual-fuel solution is that it gives you an induction hob with knobs in the front. That's something I personally miss a lot from the majority of induction cooktops these days. I just feel that knobs are a better user interface.

I also have a Lacanche with gas + induction. I mostly cook on the gas side because I prefer it. I do use induction for boiling water; I’ve also trained the kids to use induction because it’s easier and safer for them than gas.
