Rug Help - Mockup if possible

Hi Houzzers! Just bought this 3 x 5’ shag rug, but need a different size & color. I had a 8 x 10’ rug previously, but now only want a small rug. Just something to put my feet on & for dog to lay on. Bed is king size and bedding consists of gray, taupe, and white. TIA

The black shag rug just looked too harsh.

Hey everyone, what do you think? I believe the size is spot on, but not the color or design.

Judy I think you're not done yet. Although both rugs are pretty, I don't think the zigzag design one works with your elegant bedding. Maybe the white one, but right now it just seems to stick out. Maybe if you had a small pillow (maybe that smallest one) that had some white in it, it would be picking up something else from the room design...maybe even a furry white one matching the rug? I think the sizes are good.

I think you need to pull out some color

We got a sheepskin that feels great on the feet and our dog loves.

While your rug choices are nice, they can't be appreciated with the decor you already have. Return those rugs. Go for something subtle but luxurious. Look at your bedding--it's rich. A rug that has pile depth, one you can squish your feet in, but not fur. A solid color in a dark smokey grey. Think complimentary in this this case. Not contrast.

Also, go bigger in size. 4×6 at the very least, 5x7 better.

Judy, I think you have great taste! Your bedroom is lovely, calm and relaxing. I like everything you have done, including your new, dark rug, which picks up and repeats the color of your furniture and makes a delightful complimentary and complementary contrast with the rest of your room.

Suggest you upgrade the throw on your bed to a rich, luxurious fake fur like this one: Safavieh Faux Black Leopard Throw

    Was: $78.31

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><md>Hi everyone... It sure is hard to find an accent rug. I remember Groveraxle helping me with Sofa accent pillows. It took months!

My whole post was deleted, so I will try again. I went around my house, collecting various rugs to check out colors. I even added a white accent blanket at the foot of the bed, to see what the white furry rug would look like. Let me know your thoughts. Since I had my Stanley bedroom furniture painted black, looking for lighter accents. That leopard throw is awesome. The throw that I had previously, was included in the bedding.

Perhaps a 5x7' if you want something more. Don't bother having it under the bed - hard to clean under there... Try adding something with a pop of color. Bedrooms and baths can handle it as not much awake time is spent in either.

Maybe even just something solid in teal or turquoise like your waste basket...

Thx Lynn G...had a 8 x 10’ teal rug in bedroom before. Trying to change color scheme. Will show you a picture with previous teal rug.

Do you need all the pillows? Where do you put them when you want to go to bed?

    With previous teal rug...

Felizlady...can never have enough pillows! Lay them on ottoman at night.

Kind of like this look, with white spread and throw together. Now back to the rug, any more suggestions ?

I agree with comment above...if you are using fluffy rug...you need maybe a fluffy pillow. If not stay elegant and go with a shag rugs, size look good, I would go Taupe for sure or off white. Is your bench taupe or grey? Can't tell. If grey I would got maybe a grey-light. No design

Bench is a gray.... Found these 2 rugs, and I like them both. After deciding which one to keep, will try to get a matching pillow. So, what does everyone think? The plain taupe or the one with gray & taupe?

I think Roxie likes the darker rug. ( ha-ha)

I like sheepskin or White /off white in your elegant bedroom and for your doggie ..just put the black one on top ...and take it off or under the bed when not in use ...with the dark furniture I would do two light color rugs in front of bed ...

I have Stanley bedroom furniture also. So bring everything else in the room up to par (lamps and bedding) with it. I would go for larger rugs - no need have your dog confined to such a small rug.
