Miele wall oven with knobs

I am getting the pureline combi steam oven from Miele. Need to get an full size oven to go with it. I want to get the basic Miele oven to go with it. It has self clean, rapid preheat, convection. What more do I need when I will be using the combi 95% of the time anyways? Problem is that my hubby thinks the knobs look dated or out of place and wants to go to the next level just for looks. I do not like wasting money on something I won’t use but so understand his point.

Is there any other reason I wouldn’t like this oven with its knobs? Or the oven performance in general? I don’t want to have regrets.

Thank you. David I can’t seem to get the link to work. it is live but doesn’t take me to the article you suggest?

M, we are getting an induction and giving up our gas. Did you get the pureline or stainless finish? I have a newish kitchenaid built in fridge which this stack will be right beside. I want the pureline but maybe that wouldn’t look good with all ss? The handles don’t bother me .

We have the Pureline series and are quite happy with the looks of it. I was initially hoping to get the white model, but for some inexplicable reason, that one isn't available as a plumbed CSO. So, we didn't really have too many options to choose from, as plumbing was crucial for us (very happy we made that choice, too).

We love our gas range, but I also spent a lot of thought on whether I should go with induction instead. In the end, it comes down to personal preference. A good gas range, or a good induction cooktop will both work really well.

But that certainly explains why you still need to find a wall oven. The regular Miele wall ovens looked fine to me; but I honestly don't really know much about them. I do know that there is at least one person on Houzz (@Jerry Jorgenson) who absolutely loves his Bluestar electric wall oven. So, that might be another option to look at. But I don't know how that fits with the rest of your design.

As for the fridge, if you have the option I would try to get a paneled model. That makes things much easier.

We are pairing the touchscreen Miele CSO with the convection oven with knobs. It wasn't worth the cost to us to have the highest-end controls on our regular oven (since I know how to set and use time and temp for normal cooking), and my mom has the mid-level Miele controls and everyone in the family finds the interface clunky and difficult to use. Our appliance store agreed that the knobs or the touchscreen were the way to go - many people find the intermediate controls to be difficult.

I am following as I have found the MIele XL pureline for just over half the list price ( it was a return due to it being the wrong color.) It was not the model I was initially looking at but I am thinking it's too good to pass up.

So I am interested in any opinions and thoughts.

A 50% discount on a Miele XL is awesome. Is that the CSO? Plumbed or unplumbed?

Can you still get an extended warranty. If so, that would absolutely seal the deal for me.

It is the CSO (Pureline 6800 xl )and it's not plumbed. I was initially thinking of getting the plumbed and xxl. Then I went a different way with my ovens and have been using a countertop steam oven I decided that for 5K+ , I was putting a cso on hold. I was planning on still having the cabinetry for it but using that for storage until I saw how my other ovens worked out and if I felt the CSO was worth it to me. Warranty is one year.

The plumbed version is much nicer, as it removes the (admittedly small) barrier to using the oven each and every time. I am very glad I made this choice. But for a 50% discount, I am sure I could be bothered to fill the water manually :-)

The one year warranty would be a little more of a worry. This is a very complex appliance. Chances are, it'll work just fine. But if something does break, repairs are going to be very expensive. Your discount might still be good enough to justify the repair costs. But if I had the option, I'd look for a way to negotiate a longer warranty.

There are not many appliances that I feel this way about. But a CSO is one of them.

So this is our Kitchenaid fridge which is new along with the Thermador stack we are replacing (finally). We are replacing with Pureline (more black but some stainless) or Contour (all stainless). Would the pureline still be ok with the all stainless fridge? Or should we stick with all stainless? The cabinets will be retrofitted to fit as our current oven is a 27”. They will also be painted white next year

Kitaaa, I personally would not hesitate to have the black next to stainless steel.

I actually really like the black on the Pureline. It looks more sleek to me and breaks up the monotonous stainless surfaces. In fact, I am going to replace the oven door on my range to also be black, so it'll pick up the same theme (stainless + black).

The hinges had broken on my ~10 year old Bluestar (known problem with ovens from that date; long since fixed in newer models) and Bluestar thinks that I need to replace both the hinges and the door. That gave me an opportunity to update the color. Looking forward to the updated look.
