Need help with big entrance wall

Hello all,

I need advise please. I live in an apartment and have a big wall at the entrance. It measures 103 in length and 96 in height. I saw an iron etagere which I really like. It measures 80 inches in height and 42 inches in width. I figure I can put something on the side like a chair or vase.

Any ideas?? I’m having guest for the holidays and want to get rid of what I have now.

Thank you

Carol

    Hi Carol,

I think an etagere sounds like a really interesting idea! Are you planning on using all that open shelving for display or for storage? I see that you have a console table in the space now - are you against putting another one there or is it not meeting your needs?

There are some pretty great console tables out there that have that brass and glass look of some of the etageres you’ve saved. This one from west elm is quite pretty. It would allow for open storage/display space and a starburst mirror above or some great artwork. Let me know your thoughts and we can go from there!

    Renee,

Thank you for your advice. I have been looking for months .. I will definitely consider a console. The pic you sent is. pretty.

You are definitely not going to hurt my feelings if you say thanks, but no thanks - you are spending the money and you are living with it, so it should make you happy! I did mock up two design schemes with this console. I can do one with an etagere - I’d do the same chair and probably a floor lamp. Either way, I hope this helps you make some decisions! And I’m always happy to mock up some more designs.

Chairs and lamp are from Ballard Designs (you can get similar, cheaper chairs at IKEA) pillows from Overstock, baskets Pottery Barn, console is West Elm, shell is Wisteria (I have this and love it), console from West Elm, and grey/blue artwork from Perigold and pink/red from Minted. You can definitely find large scale art pretty affordably at HomeGoods.

Hi Renee , thank you for your input. I like the idea of a console. Not to sure about the chairs though. I looked at the console on West Elm , don’t think it’s wide enough.. will keep looking. Thank You

Hi Carol. I made some designs that can give you a vision of what you might want to see in your entryway.

A console with a floor lamp and a wall art

A console, a floor lamp, and a chair

A glass-shelved console, an ottoman and a floor lamp.

A wide low-level console with an accent mirror.

If you have any preferences in mind please do share so I can help you further.
