Potted Fig tree storage questions

I have a 4 year old potted Chicago Hardy. For the first time it is too tall to haul down to the basement storage closet. Following tips I read here, after it went dormant, I put it in a corner of my attached garage. Inside corner where two house walls meet, so probably the warmest location in the garage.

I didn’t know that temps would dip to 7 degrees F last night! I found several other plants I had been saving in the garage til they went dormant frozen solid this morning (after which time I was going to bare-root them and store). Those are no big deal and replaceable next year.

On the other hand, I have potted mini hostas that freeze solid in the garage every year and those spring back just fine. But hostas are completely cold hardy in Zones much colder than mine.

But I am worried about the fig. What kind of temperature extremes can a potted dormant fig take? I am in Zone 5b Chicagoland. Thanks.
