WILL DO BRASS HARDWARE.. ISLAND BLACK WATERFALL AND SAME STONE TO COVER THE HOOD THAT IS BEING BOXED AND COVERED BY SAME SONE.... BACKSPLASH AND REST OF COUNTERS WHITE MARBLE LOOKIN STONE....

Here is an idea with a render..... no white cabinet next to the hood though... will leave all walnut except for the island cabinets....

So now you have an idea here next are the stones for the countertops and backsplash....

FIRST OPTION: Calacatta gold and Black Dekton Laos... what I like about the Calcutta is that is white overall and has subtle grayish veins with discrete touches of gold that will look amazing with walnut cabinets and hardware... the Black Dekton I love love is more a porcelain (for outdoor too so later can combine kitchen with barbecue counters) and the fact that apparently is very resistant easier to take care than quartz since has no resin...

OPTION TWO FOR THE DARK ONE... is this granite (sorry for the terrible pictures) (looks darker in life but does have a goldfish veining look..... What do you guys think?

And this is OPTION TWO for the white countertop and backsplash.... this one is not as white as the Calacatta Gold has a more beige-gray tone to it I guess....

Lovely kitchen. I wouldn’t mix granite with Quartz. I think you should go with all Quartz or all Granite.

For the white top - I would get a sample next to your cabinets and think of what sort of backsplash you are going to do - that might break the tie for you since they look so similar. As far as Dekton goes, you better have an awesome fabricator. We had a display put in that we got a deal on because the fabricator was testing out how to work with it. It really did not come out too great. There are chips and the miter edges are only so - so... I have to say I'm not a fan. Also we managed to get a stain on it. There was a plant there and the pot had a small leak on the bottom we didn't know about until we discovered the green ring left ( so much for good cleaning people ). Did n't wipe off... had to do all sort of cleaning and soaking and finally got it to a point where you can't see it except at a certain angle... Now of course it is a white countertop so a darker top is more forgiving.

I have seen the Nero mist ( there is one similar called jet mist too ) - they are beautiful! I personally would take that over man made any day...

Debbie, first of all really appreciate your time and your advice :) As far as the Dekton one, they did specify the complexity of fabricating it. I did ask my fabricator and said he's savvy, but I am aware it has it's risks... But in case I don't find another black I like, if it weren't for that issue, what do you think about the look of it and pairing it with the white calaccata, the walnut cabinets and gold hardware?

Also, by any chance do you recall a White Marble that can go well with the Nero Mist?

I am very eager to see what you come up with. I have a very similar kitchen and am updating it with new countertops as well. I am looking at The Calcatta Arno in Quartz from MSI or possibly going with quartzite Venus (formerly Taj Mahal). I can't wait to see pictures of what you come up with

Sorry guys took me forever! I was drained didn’t know how stressful remodeling was 🙈 anyhow I decided on the Dekton for the island and couldn’t be happier! I added the almond color cabinets in a more modern look to combine with the walnut I had and try to save at least on that and sticked with the travertine floor I also didn’t want to spend on. So did what I could with what I had.... am not finished yet but almost done :-)

what color did you go with for the white counters?

We were looking at Arno and Gold too. We saw the Arno slab and were disappointed. Another counter supplier told us that MSI changed the formula (not for the better) and it no longer looks like the samples. They said they were going to have to remove the Arno counter from their display. He recommended we look at MSI Valentin (warm white) or Monaco (cool), which are new designs. The Valentin sample looks great for our needs - warm white with gray and subtle brown veining -- and better than the picture on MSI website. We hope the slab looks as good in person. We also plan to look at Gold slab too.
