Inherited Family Heirloom Furniture

This lovely young couple inherited family heirloom sofa and chairs but needed help with planning the room, purchasing tables, adding color and accessorizing. They called me in to help, and are now enjoying their living room.

Beautiful room for someone of my age. I could not imagine my daughter in this space.

Sorry way too old for a young couple. Should have reupholstered in some unexpected fabric/color and added current accessories and side tables etc.

The room views are lovely but some how a little too mature. I agree that new upholstery would help and then add some sleeker items to help bring it into the 21st C. If you want to keep the lamps then change shade out to a drum shade. The wall sconces are too small for the space and need a plate hung below to add visual interest. Charlotte Moss is the queen of using wall brackets to their best advantage by mixing them with other things. Try looking at her books as she has lots of great room scapes that you could mimic with this type of furniture and still look young.
