We have a great room with an 11' high ceiling, lots of light coming in, black light fixtures and black trim on the patio doors/windows.

We have a 5' linear fireplace across the room from the kitchen (the kitchen is basically 1 huge wall with a 10' long island).

Design dilemma: Can we do a marble backsplash and waterfall countertop across the room from a floor to ceiling concrete fireplace feature? Or, should we have a tiled marble fireplace (no mantle) with marble kitchen backsplash?
