Sorry, but this is annoying feedback. This isn’t an advertisement for “Design on a dime.” Where the expectation comes that people should be able to afford it comes in is entitled and misguided. You’re looking at a home, gorgeously renovates by an architect and designed immaculately by a designer. I’m pretty sure most of middle America couldn’t afford that, or anything akin to it. And in Huntington Beach. Which is why so many of us read these design articles: for inspiration that we can bring back to our own homes, in ways that match our tastes — and our pocketbooks.
Expressing displeasure at how expensive something you admire (but can’t afford) when you were never offered to buy anything only discourages the professionals from sharing. And makes someone look bad.
