Whats on the other two walls?

Windows with the same issue on one of the other walls, bathroom door on another, and door to bedroom on other wall.

I think it looks fine in the listing photo. not perfect but not bad. I think I’d do the headboard and not worry. Curtains could be nice but I also think it’s fine as is.

Adding Curtins on Each Side plus Each Lamp on each side of the bed should help

I have the same issue in my master bedroom. I did it the same as your first picture with plantation shutters and nightstands with lamps and it looks fine. I don't even notice it anymore.

Would it be strange to put an upholstered panel or something headboard-like just in the area between the windows?

Well, the headboard doesn't need to be that high. A simple .ow headboard that starts about sill-high and arcs gently to the center would be fine. So would a low headboard that just goes straight across.

Similar window treatments and nightstands with lamps will make it look fine.

I also agree that a curtain on the inside of the windows will solve the issue. one other thought it really really bugs you is a curved headboard that is wide at the bottom and then gets smaller up the headboard. not sure if it would have to be custom, but heres the idea

Why can’t you put the bed on the other wall? The locations of the electrical outlets suggest to me that that is how the room was designed.

Drapes would help.

Run drapes across the entire wall.
