master bath counter selection

Hi. We are building a custom home. I am really stuck on the master bath counters. We are both surprisingly drawn to the darker counter (even with the sparkles!) but I am afraid it looks dated. I do like that it would bring warmth to the otherwise light materials. We have chosen oil rubbed bronze fixtures.

The larger format tile above the counter sample will be on the floor. The white is the counters. The arabesque is just for a waterfall in the shower, so won't be visible in the same line of sight as the countertop.

A safe option is the lighter top in the second photo. Overall, I'm trying to not be *too* safe with the house and have some fun with it, and overall decisions have been easy, but I can't get a gut feel on this one.

As someone who had every room in their home painted SW Amazing Gray, I'd personally choose the bottom option. While Amazing Gray is a beautiful color, it can pull beiges from surrounding materials very easily and give a very washed out brown look if your other options are in the beige color family. If you go with the bottom option, the paint color will do its job in pulling the right amount of warmth from your other materials, like the flooring and oil rubbed bronze fixtures, while avoiding a cabinet/counter combination that is a bit more dated.

I personally like your first choice, mostly because of the darker granite. I am not sure I would like the gold sparkles.

The second counter top pattern doesn't coordinate as well with the other choices. The flecks don't belong there.

The combo of colors in the second choice are good.
