Hi everyone,

I’m new to the forum and have a question about our concrete foundation. We’re building a home in Western Massachusetts and the footings and foundation walls just went in. The forms were removed this weekend and when I went to see I was dismayed to see what look like several kinds of defects. The footings have large areas of what seems to be honey combing— exposed aggregate with no concrete over. The walls have lots of small pits.

Two questions: do either of these post structural issues? if so can they be repaired? these don’t look right to me buy I am not an expert! I am having a conversation with our GC tomorrow morning but I’m wondering if I need to get a structural engineer to j spect as well. All thoughts and suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance.
