Are you in a an area where all the plants need to go in for the winter? If not I would plant those right into the ground not in pots at all and groupings instead of individual plants all alone .succulents and cacti do not require the same soil as grass but need really good drainage . Could you also take a picture of the whole space from further back to give me a better idea of it.

Hi Patricia. I have horrible soil which is why I couldn't grow grass. It is challenging. Will try and get a wider pic. Thank you for your help.
