You didn't post what color your red oak floors are.

I recently finished a remodel and deliberately chose red oak flooring because I have a lot of white oak cabinetry, doors etc. and I wanted a contrast.

My red oak floors are a natural finish and I upgraded to a higher quality with less movement and knots. My white oak cabinets and doors are a medium caramel finish but the casings around the doors and the new floorboards are painted a creamy white - same color as my walls.

I really like the way these complement each other - in the future you might note that complimenting with an I is praising someone and complementing with an e is when two or more items enhance each other from a design stand point.

Cabinets are quarter sawn white oak - dining table is maple (light) with walnut (dark) insets as part of the design

My finish is natural, just an oil based poly and floors are very similar to yours. That contrast looks great! Thank you again for sharing
