And you took these to show us an example of very odd design choices? Why the containers? The tall stump? The trees covering all windows?

I finished my first helping. More please. I'm a glutton for garden photos. I hope some more of your place is also on the menu sometime.

I've got a few tall stumps that I purposely left like that, nailed a pot drainage saucer to, and use them as bird and squirrel feeders.

He's definitely not afraid to limb something up! I guess the rope work is because some are getting top heavy.

Buy hey, that's one of the cool things about gardening etc.....we all have our own styles , anything goes and there is no wrong.

OK, way back to 1st pic

Picea abies 'pendulas in planters are very old , and trimmed many times (shame)

I asked if he waters them ...he said when he pulled the deck out , the roots reached way under

He also started years ago with 2 rows of Hemlocks ( 200 of them ) on lot line

    only a few left today

The bridge is real cool ... you need it cause the creek cuts his yard in two

What type of tree is that first one in your last 3 posted?

Very unusual lower trunk. Is that a graft union?

  • alley_cat_gw_7b

The spruces in front of the house are 'Reflexa'. Which is the actual name of the so-called "Pendula" of general commerce.

The top-grafted dwarf Colorado spruce in the paved area looks pretty big. The weeping pines near it are having some kind of a problem, maybe herbicide injury if he likes to use a lot of that.

I think picea pungens 'Globosa' on standard

the white pines go yellow every winter ,,, although , all pavers are based with lime stone ... he would do well to add sulfer some how
